Meet Kim Linenkohl --
Kim Linenkohl has been a dancer most of her life. She began her ballet training at the Joni Messler Studio of Dance in Gainesville, Fl at the age of six. She furthered her training in the styles of jazz, tap, modern, hip-hop, contemporary and more at several workshops and schools throughout the United States. She attended the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School/Schenley High School program and the Joffrey Ballet School in New York on scholarship. While in New York, Ms. Linenkohl received teacher training under Dorothy Lister who helped launch her professional dance career with the Big Apple Circus and Staten Island Ballet. She then went on to dance, choreograph and teach with the Georgia Ballet under the direction of Iris Hensley and Gina-Hyatt Mazon where she enjoyed performing many lead roles including Russian Girl in Serenade and Allegro Brilliante choreographed by George Balanchine, Vettriano's Beach choreographed by Warren Carlyle, and Dew Drop in Iris Hensley's Nutcracker. She has also choreographed for and performed with Paideia Arts and Dance Canvas along with several other companies and studios in the Atlanta Metro area.
Not only is Ms. Linenkohl passionate about dancing, she is also quite fascinated with the human body and mind and is fortunate to enjoy a teaching career where she can apply her current studies of Anatomy and Physiology she's receiving at Chattahoochee Tech. She first began assisting classes at the age of twelve and began teaching her first class at the age of eighteen. Kim is an ABT certified teacher who has successfully completed the ABT Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT National Training Curriculum. She is excited to share her love of dance and desire to help people with the families at Grain of Sand Academy.
